ABA Summer Program Ottawa 2026: What Families Can Expect at HolistiCare

Summer can be a difficult stretch for many families. School routines disappear, structure falls away, and the skills a child has been building all year can start to slip without consistent support. For families of autistic children and youth in Ottawa and Kanata, an ABA-based summer camp is one way to keep that momentum going, while still giving kids a season that feels like summer.

Here is what families can expect from HolistiCare’s Summer ABA Program in Ottawa for 2026.

What Is HolistiCare’s Summer ABA Program?

HolistiCare’s Summer ABA Program is a structured, evidence-based group program for autistic children and youth, delivered in a predictable and supportive environment. Rather than a typical drop-in summer camp, the program is built around the same clinical principles that guide our year-round therapy: individualized goals, data-driven progress tracking, and BCBA oversight.

The aim is straightforward. Children continue building skills like communication, social interaction, self-regulation, and independence throughout the summer, supported by routines designed to reduce anxiety and promote predictability, all while taking part in activities that feel engaging rather than clinical.

A Typical Day: Structure, Play, and Skill-Building

Each day blends structured and semi-structured activities, including:

  • Movement-based play
  • Social interaction with peers
  • Creative learning
  • Executive function and emotional regulation supports

Activities are adapted to each child’s individual needs, so that every session stays accessible and genuinely engaging rather than one-size-fits-all. Children are grouped according to age, developmental level, and individual needs, with support ratios determined clinically to keep every group safe and every child able to participate meaningfully.

Who Leads the Program

Every session is clinically supervised by a BCBA (Board Certified Behaviour Analyst), and HolistiCare is an OAP Approved Provider. A Registered Behaviour Analyst serves as Clinical Supervisor, responsible for designing, overseeing, and continuously refining each child’s program to ensure real, measurable progress.

Goals are developed collaboratively with families before the program begins, progress is monitored throughout, and families receive a summary report at the end. Programming focuses on social communication, self-regulation, group participation, independence, and functional life skills, with goals that are individualized and grounded in data rather than guesswork.

Is It Right for My Child?

The program is generally best suited to children ages 4 and up, since the group format relies on shared activities and peer interaction that tend to work best once a child is ready for that kind of structure. If you are unsure whether the program is the right fit for your child’s current stage, our team is happy to talk through it with you directly, no pressure either way.

OAP Funding and Enrollment

As an OAP Approved Provider, HolistiCare’s Summer ABA Program may be eligible for Ontario Autism Program funding, depending on your family’s individual funding situation. Spots are limited each summer, and enrollment fills based on availability and clinical fit, so families considering the program are encouraged to reach out early.
