Location: Ottawa / Toronto
Employment Type: Part‑time / Contract / Per Diem
Compensation: $30–$40 per hour (based on subject area, level, and experience)

Service Delivery: In‑person and/or virtual

Reports To: Program Supervisor / Clinical or Educational Lead (as applicable)

Our team delivers evidence‑based intervention and support across tutoring, executive function coaching, social and life skills development, and complementary clinical services.

Position Summary

Holisticare is seeking experienced and passionate Tutors in French, Mathematics, and English to provide individualized academic support to students from elementary through post‑secondary levels.
In this role, you will work with both neurotypical learners and neurodiverse students, including individuals with learning disabilities, ADHD, and ASD. Tutors deliver patient, differentiated instruction tailored to each learner’s needs, goals, and learning profile, supporting academic skill development, confidence, and effective study habits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized tutoring sessions in French, Mathematics, and/or English based on student needs and learning profiles
  • Assess student strengths, challenges, and areas for growth to inform instructional planning
  • Support students with curriculum concepts, homework completion, test preparation, and study skills
  • Apply differentiated, evidence‑informed, and multi‑sensory instructional strategies
  • Support neurodiverse learners using structured, patient, and flexible teaching approaches
  • Communicate student progress with families and collaborate with Holisticare team members when appropriate
  • Maintain session notes and track academic progress over time
  • Uphold professional, ethical, and client‑centred standards in all interactions

Qualifications & Experience

Required / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Education, the relevant subject area, or a related field
  • Demonstrated tutoring or teaching experience in French, Mathematics, and/or English
  • Strong communication skills and an encouraging, learner‑centred instructional approach
  • Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Valid vulnerable sector criminal record check (or willingness to obtain)

Assets:

  • Experience working with neurodiverse learners (ASD, ADHD, learning disabilities)
  • Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification (considered an asset, not required)
  • Bilingualism (English/French)  required for French tutoring roles and an asset for others
  • Experience providing virtual or hybrid tutoring services
