Location: Ottawa
Employment Type: Part‑time / Contract / Per Diem
Compensation: $25–$35 per hour (based on experience)
Reports To: Registered Teacher / Clinical Supervisor

Our team delivers evidence‑based, individualized support through clinical services, academic programming, executive function coaching, social and life skills development, and community‑based programs.

Position Summary

Holisticare is seeking Teacher Assistants to support individualized academic programming for neurodiverse learners. In this role, you will support instructional activities under the direction of a Registered Teacher or Behaviour Analyst, helping promote engagement, skill development, and learning readiness across a variety of settings.
This role is well suited to individuals with experience in educational or developmental support settings who value collaborative, person‑centred work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support client participation in instructional and learning‑readiness activities under the direction of a Registered Teacher or BCBA
  • Assist with implementing evidence‑based instructional strategies, including structured literacy and task analysis
  • Provide in‑session support to promote engagement, regulation, and participation
  • Track and document academic progress using data collection tools
  • Collaborate with teachers, clinicians, and families to support integrated service delivery
  • Participate in team meetings and training as required
  • Maintain professional, ethical, and client‑centred practice standards

Qualifications & Experience

Required / Preferred:

  • Diploma in Educational Support, Child and Youth Care, or a related field
  • Experience working in special education or developmental support settings preferred
  • Experience supporting students with ASD, learning disabilities, ADHD, or other neurodiverse profiles
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
  • Valid vulnerable sector criminal record check (or willingness to obtain)

Assets:

  • Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
  • Bilingualism (English/French)
